Esthetic Crown-Lengthening

A “gummy smile”, or excessive gum tissue that covers a significant portion of the tooth surface, makes the teeth appear short or disproportionate. Esthetic crown lengthening is a surgical technique designed to improve the appearance of the smile by reshaping the gum tissue and bone surrounding the teeth.

How does it work?

During the procedure, the gum tissue is carefully adjusted to expose more of the tooth surface. The area is then cleaned and sutured to promote healthy healing. Once healed, teeth appear longer, the smile looks more proportionate, and it becomes easier to restore teeth with crowns or veneers if needed.
