Capitalizing on his heritage and fluency in Italian, Dr. Ron Odrich begins lecturing throughout Italy, training an early generation of periodontal professionals.
After 30 years as a solo practitioner, Dr. Ron Odrich expands the practice – known as Park Avenue Periodontal Associates – and welcomes Dr. Alan Winter and Dr. Alan Pollack.
Carrying the banner of one of the leading periodontal practices in New York City, the clinic continues to grow and thrive, with five doctors and a staff of 20 professionals.
Dr. Ron Odrich and Dr. Alan Pollack relocate to the current office on East 64th Street, in Manhattan, with the practice currently known as Pollack Periodontal Associates.
Dr. Hector Sarmiento graduates from the University of Pennsylvania with a specialty in Periodontics and a Master’s Degree in Oral Biology, and joins the practice – a professor, researcher, and international lecturer who seamlessly integrates the practice’s upscale mindset, perpetuating the legacy of top-tier training, knowledge, skill, and patient care.
While Dr. Ron Odrich begins to reduce his patient treatment time, Dr. Alan Pollack assumes the role of chair of the Research Committee of the Academy of Osseointegration, ultimately serving as president from 2016 to 2017. Meanwhile, Dr. Hector Sarmiento becomes Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology, playing an increasingly vital role in maintaining the highest standard of patient care and assuming administrative responsibilities in the practice.
Aligned with the strategic shifts is a brand new name – the practice becomes known as New York Periodontics.
Dr. Hector Sarmiento becomes a Board Examiner for the American Board of Periodontology, taking on the role of examining candidate periodontists seeking certification in the U.S.
Dr. Alan Pollack leaves the practice to assume a new position as director of dental clinical operations at a medtech startup. Dr. Hector Sarmiento heads the practice as a single practitioner, with the clinic coming full circle.
After a decade teaching at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Hector Sarmiento’s commitment to advancing periodontal education and care was duly recognized – the periodontics clinic at Penn Dental Medicine was renamed The Sarmiento Center for Periodontics.
