Dr. Hector L. Sarmiento

Dr. Hector Sarmiento stands as a beacon of excellence in the realm of periodontal surgery, distinguished by a multitude of prestigious accolades. His journey to mastery began at the University of Rochester, where he earned his degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), setting the stage for his illustrious career.

What sets Dr. Sarmiento apart is his unparalleled expertise in both maxillofacial surgery and periodontics, a rare combination that positions him as a true visionary in the field. Currently holding esteemed positions as an Assistant Clinical Professor in periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and as a professor in the trauma and reconstructive unit at the Regional Hospital in Mexico, his influence spans across continents, shaping the future of oral health education and practice.

Dr. Alan Pollack

Dr. Alan Pollack

A product of Stuyvesant High School, Dr. Pollack received his B.S. in biology from Queens College and his D.D.S. from Columbia University, where he also pursued research into the then emerging field of endorphins.

A product of Stuyvesant High School, Dr. Pollack received his B.S. in biology from Queens College and his D.D.S. from Columbia University, where he also pursued research into the then emerging field of endorphins. He completed a general dental residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center before returning to Columbia for his Certificate in Periodontics, the latter in 1983. A member of O.K.U., the dental honor society, Dr. Pollack is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), as well as Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI).

Dr. Pollack was on the staff of the Dental Service of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for 16 years, as well as on the faculties of Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospitals. With several articles published, he has lectured on a variety of topics both nationally and abroad. Actively involved with the Academy of Osseointegration, he held the roles of Chair of the Research Committee, member of the Nominating Committee, Board Director and President. Dr. Pollack retired in 2022.

Dr. Paul S. Rosen

Dedicated to periodontics, surgical implant placement and regenerative therapy, Dr. Paul Rosen is also a Clinical Professor of Periodontics at both Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine and the University of Maryland Dental School.

Dedicated to periodontics, surgical implant placement and regenerative therapy, Dr. Paul Rosen is also a Clinical Professor of Periodontics at both Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine and the University of Maryland Dental School. A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an Examiner for the oral examination of the Board, he has served on a number of committees for the American Academy of Periodontology, as well as co-chairing a consensus conference on dental implant complications and their management. Dr. Rosen is a reviewer for and serves on the editorial advisory boards for a number of dental journals. He has authored/co-authored many articles on periodontal regeneration, dental implants and interrelated orthodontic-periodontal care, and lectured both nationally and internationally on the subjects of dental implants and regeneration for both teeth and dental implants.

Dr. Rosen is honored to have been awarded a number of prestigious awards including the American Academy of Periodontology’s Master Clinician Award in 2015, the Northeastern Society of Periodontists Isidor Hirschfeld Award for Clinical Excellence in 2016, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award for Professional Achievement from the University of Maryland Dental School in 2020.

Dr. Hannah Liss

After graduating from the New York University College of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Hannah Liss completed her residency in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, along with a Master of Science in Oral Biology.

During her studies, she was heavily involved in research through the Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics in conjunction with NYU Langone’s Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery.

Through her research endeavors, Dr. Liss has been published in journals such as Nature Journal’s Scientific Reports, the Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the Journal of Dental Education and the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, presenting her research both nationally and internationally. She has received awards such as the Dentsply Sirona Outstanding Student Clinician award, the AADR Dentsply Sirona Student Competition Advancing Dental Research and its Application award, NYU’s Dean’s Award for Outstanding Presentation, NYU’s Best Basic Science Presentation by a Student in the DDS Program, along with Second Prize in Outstanding Presentation at the 3rd annual China-ASEAN Excellent Young Dental Student Forum in Nanning, China, and the Coslet Memorial Scholarship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

Additionally, Dr. Liss serves as an attending physician and clinical instructor in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Metropolitan Hospital.

Following her graduation from a medical college in Latvia, Ieva pursued further education and practical experience in London, attending King’s College to enhance her skills in implantology and maxillofacial surgery.

Her journey continued in the United States, culminating in a 2021 graduation from NYU College of Dentistry. Ieva’s dedication to academic and clinical excellence earned her induction into Sigma Phi Alpha’s NYU Dental Hygiene Psi chapter and a professionalism award for her ethical patient care. Committed to professional growth, Ieva stays abreast of dentistry’s evolving landscape, prioritizing patient satisfaction and oral health, with a firm belief in the link between periodontal and systemic health. Since joining New York Periodontics in 2022, she has become renowned for her patient care dedication and her goal is to fulfill patient expectations and inspire smiles through expert periodontal care.

With over 15 years of experience, Leena Krushal is an esteemed graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Her expertise extends beyond proficient periodontal evaluation and treatment, encompassing a broad spectrum of modern oral health practices.

Linda earned her degree in Dental Hygiene from New York University College of Dentistry in 2003, graduating at the top of her class and receiving recognition from the Sigma Phi Alpha Honor Society.

She is a firm believer in the connection between oral health and overall well-being. Her goal is not only to help eliminate gum disease but also to educate patients on how to prevent its recurrence. Passionate about patient education, she believes that creating a healthy oral environment leads to better overall health.

With over 11 years of dedicated service, Maria plays an integral role in the daily operations of the practice. As Director of Operations, I oversee the coordination, efficiency, and overall workflow of the office to ensure that both patients and staff receive the highest level of support.
