Dr. Alan Pollack
(Retired)
A product of Stuyvesant High School, Dr. Pollack received his B.S. in biology from Queens College and his D.D.S. from Columbia University, where he also pursued research into the then emerging field of endorphins. He completed a general dental residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center before returning to Columbia for his Certificate in Periodontics, the latter in 1983. A member of O.K.U., the dental honor society, Dr. Pollack is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), as well as Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
Meet Dr. Alan Pollack (retired)

Since becoming a periodontist, Dr. Pollack has been on the staff of the Dental Service of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for ~16 years as well as on the faculties of Beth Israel Medical Center and St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospitals. Dr. Pollack has published several articles, and been invited to lecture on a variety of topics both here and abroad.
Dr. Pollack believes in the importance of giving back to the community and has been active in the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), the international implant scientific organization, for many years, as well as contributing his time and energies to other non-professional organizations. Having held positions in the AO ranging from Chair of the Research Committee to a member of the Nominating Committee, he had spent five years as a Board Director of the Academy, where he most recently oversaw the development of their new website. He is currently serving as President-Elect of the AO, and will assume the presidency after the 2016 Annual Meeting. Dr. Pollack has three children who are each pursuing their own career paths (not a dentist among them!) and enjoys a variety of athletic and outdoor activities from cycling, hiking and skiing to martial arts and frequently participates in fundraising events for the MS Society and Leukemia Society.

He also has appointments as a Clinical Professor of Periodontics at both Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine and the University of Maryland Dental School. Dr. Rosen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has been an Examiner for the oral examination of the Board. He has served on a number of committees for the American Academy of Periodontology and most recently is co-chairing a consensus conference on dental implant complications and their management. Dr. Rosen is a reviewer for and serves on the editorial advisory boards for a number of dental journals. He has authored/co-authored a number of articles on periodontal regeneration, dental implants and interrelated orthodontic-periodontal care and lectured both nationally and internationally on the subjects of dental implants and regeneration for both teeth and dental implants.

Dr. Hannah Liss is originally from Columbus, Georgia. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Art History with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Georgia, where she received the Zell B. Miller Hope Scholarship for academic achievement. Dr. Liss went on to study at the New York University College of Dentistry where she graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Subsequently, she completed her residency in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania along with a Master of Science in Oral Biology. During her studies, Dr. Liss was heavily involved in research through the Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics in conjunction with NYU Langone’s Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery.
Meet Dr. Hannah Liss

Dr. Liss has presented her research both nationally and internationally, and has received awards such as the Dentsply Sirona Outstanding Student Clinican award, the AADR Dentsply Sirona Student Competition Advancing Dental Research and its Application award, NYU’s Dean’s Award for Outstanding Presentation, NYU’s Best Basic Science Presentation by a Student in the DDS Program, along with Second Prize in Outstanding Presentation at the 3rd annual China-ASEAN Excellent Young Dental Student Forum in Nanning, China. She was also named a recipient of the Coslet Memorial Scholarship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Additionally, Dr. Liss serves as an attending physician and clinical instructor in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Metropolitan Hospital.

Her journey continued in the United States, culminating in a 2021 graduation from NYU College of Dentistry.
